Want in? 99 cent event for readers of Mystery, Thriller and Suspense

Hello fellow MTS (Mystery, Thriller, Suspense) author. My name is Douglas Dorow, author of the FBI crime thriller, THE NINTH DISTRICT and the soon to be released novella, SUPERCELL.

I am inviting you to participate in a one day event where we (a group of Mystery, Thriller & Suspense writers) discount one of our books to 99 cents and we all invite our readers/fans to the event. There is power in numbers and we can bring value to our fans by introducingthe m to new authors’ books they would enjoy at a discounted price. We all struggle with discoverability, getting picked up by BookBub for an ad and finding new readers. This is one way we can get exposure to readers who at least read in our genre and (fingers-crossed) some new sales/fans.

I’ve created a Facebook group, the MTS Readers Cluhouse. Think of the clubhouse as a Speakeasy where readers and writers hang out to discuss their favorite mystery, thriller and suspense books. This page will be for ongoing interaction with readers and will host an eventfor the day.I’d like to plan the first event for January 2nd. I’m looking for 20 – 30 authors to participate. What does it take to participate?

1) you discount one of your titles for at least the day of the event (or promote a current 99 cent title).2) you invite your readers and fans to the event via your newsletter, your Facebook page, twitter – the more readers we get there, the better.3) you interact on the MTS Facebook page the day of the event facilitating discussions on your books, characters, giveaways or the MTS genre.

I don’t see this as a one day event. I’d like to create a place where we can have a relationship with readers of our genre, hold quarterly 99 cent discount events, and have a bi-weekly newsletter where we can provide content  the readers want as well as announce new releases, etc.Want to know more about the one day 99 cent event? It’s based on the event in the links below that was held for authors offering non-fiction books.March to a Bestseller 2 Facebook event pageMarch to a Bestseller 2 web pageEmail me at DouglasDorow@gmail.com if you’re in for participating in the January 2nd event, let me know by Dec 15.

Send me the ebook link(s) to the book you will be discounting and a little blurb about you for the web page.If you have questions you want answered to help you decide, let me know. If you have author friends (who write in the Mystery, Thriller,Suspense genres) you think would be interested, share this link with them and have them contact me. Why am I doing this?I’m a little crazyI want to experiment with events and other ways of reaching readersI want to help fellow MTS authorsThere is power in numbers

What’s in it for you?You can reach new readers of the Myster, Thriller, Suspense genres and promote your books in the event. You can participate in an ongoing way with fellow MTS authors on sharing questions and answers about the current publishing environment, ideas, etc.You can promote future releases and discounts via the MTS monthly email to MTS readers. You can participate in future events.

Let me know and keep writing!Doug

I really, really enjoyed the 9th District. I looked for the follow up in Barnes and Noble Nook and could not find anything else from you. Any ideas?

Thanks for the read and the kind comments.

The Ninth District is the only book out there so far.

Have you signed up for my Reader List at http://www.DouglasDorow.com? I’m sending the spin-off novella – SuperCell – featuring Ross Fruen, aka Jr., from The Ninth District, to my Readers today or tomorrow for FREE!

The second FBI thriller novel after The Ninth District will be out this summer.
